IBM Maximo Overview
Maximo software has existed in some form since it was originally developed by Project Software & Development, formed in 1968. Project Software & Development became known as MRO Software Inc. in 2001, and was acquired by IBM in 2006. Maximo has continued to evolve over time to meet the asset management needs of user organizations in a variety of industries. Its acquisition by IBM has exposed it to a larger framework of developers, complementary and parallel software packages, and to a significantly larger global user community. IBM is dedicated to improving and expanding Maximo to meet the needs of a constantly growing user base.
Maximo Architecture is built on future-ready technology. Designed with a J2EE component-based architecture, Maximo can be deployed on a single machine for small to mid-sized companies, yet its scalability and performance meet the demands of global, distributed enterprises with multiple organizations and sites, that operate using multiple languages and currencies.
CTS selected the IBM Maximo product for its scope, flexibility, and proven, demonstrable ROI. With Maximo’s capabilities, and IBM’s ongoing commitment to research and development in software, Maximo is the technical software solution that offers the best long-term Return on Investment.
